Celebrating Our Impact & Austin's Legacy

On a bright and beautiful day, the 2nd Annual Aces Fore Austin charity golf scramble came and went with resounding success, raising over $30,000 in support of rare disease research and patient care initiatives.

This 2nd annual event, hosted by the Austin 1st Foundation, brought together over 100 golfers, generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and partners, all united by a common goal: to continue the legacy of Austin Terling and to make a difference in the lives of people facing rare disease medical challenges.

A Day of Golfing for Austin and a Greater Cause

The picturesque greens of the golf course provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and a shared sense of purpose. Participants from various walks of life came together to tee off in support of the Austin 1st Foundation.

The proceeds from the charity golf tournament will benefit Children's Hospital of Alabama, UAB's Undiagnosed Disease Program, and the Oregon Health & Science University's drug repurposing research study for UBA5 mutation – the rare disease that affected Austin, whose legacy continues to inspire the foundation's mission.

Golfers showcased their skills, enjoyed the friendly competition, and relished the opportunity to contribute to a cause that touches the lives of many. The event was not just about golf; it was about community, compassion, and philanthropy.

The Heartfelt Mission of the Austin 1st Foundation

Aces Fore Austin's benefactors are threefold:

$10,000 per partner will be donated from the 2nd annual Aces Fore Austin charity golf scramble for a total of $30,000.

Support for rare disease medical research: By funding research initiatives like the drug repurposing study at Oregon Health & Science University, the foundation aims to find new treatments and ultimately a cure for UBA5 mutation and other rare diseases. In partnership with the Raiden Science Foundation, who is leading the way on UBA5 Mutation research.

Assistance for Undiagnosed Patients: Partnering with UAB's Undiagnosed Disease Program, the foundation provides resources and support to families navigating the challenging journey of seeking a diagnosis for rare and elusive medical conditions.

Enhancement of Pediatric Care & Resources: Donations to the Children's Hospital of Alabama help ensure that young patients receive the highest quality of care, comfort, and hope during their rare disease medical journeys.
